International Yarn Bombing Day

June 9th is International Yarn Bombing Day!

Never heard of such a thing? International Yarn Bombing Day was invented by Joanne Matvichuk who lives in Lethbridge, Alberta (Canada). It began last year when knitters from around the world all yarn bombed on the same day on June 11th, and it continues this year on June 9th (adjusted so that it falls on the second Saturday in June). This is also the week that kicks off World Wide Knit in Public Day – both events to celebrate knitters, crocheters, and the fibre arts in public.

I will be over on my knit graffiti blog and twitter (@leanneprain) updating on Int. Yarn Bombing Day antics all day long. Even if you are not a yarn bomber, jump in with some comments! Later this afternoon, I’ll be giving away a couple of books from my publisher – the vegan classic How It All Vegan and the facial hair classic One Thousand Beards!
